2a West Rankings
Cross Country 2013
A reminder that these rankings are based on a mathematical formula used by Carroll County, Montgomery County and West Virginia. In every ranking system there is flaws. This is just one way that is used, and we thought it was a neat way to do it. Use these as a motivator. They are meant to encourage cross country in our area. To understand it better, read about HOW IT WORKS The only difference with these rankings and what it says at that site is that I used 4 meets from the first 2 weeks of the season to determine a baseline for the season. There was no opinion involved, I just converted all the times so that one could use that as a baseline. It is not perfect but it created a starting point. Also, only individuals with positive points will be listed below, but we will track every athlete in the top 7 of each team. Based on these rankings team scores will be below. We will see how this goes, and if people find it interesting on whether we will continue this.
